Image of Celebrating Neurodiversity in Year 5

This week, we have been reflecting on how we all have our own unique strengths and differences because our brains work differently. We celebrated the work of people who have been diagnosed with autism, ADHD dyslexia and dyspraxia who have achieved great things. We recognised that we all have the potential for greatness by using our strengths. We then reflected on the difference between equality - where everyone is treated equally - and equity - where everyone is given the same opportunity to succeed at something by having a different starting point or support. We all agreed that equity is a much fairer approach.
