On Friday, Year 3 spent some time preparing a reflection on the events of Holy Week. We then prayed the Stations of the Cross together.
We have been angle detectives. We used an angle checker to see how many right angles we could find in our classroom. The were lots!
It was lovely to have all our class back together today. We spent this afternoon investigating magnetic forces. We learned the words repel, attract and poles. We all enjoyed ourselves.
We have had a great time celebrating World Book Day. We have made shadow puppets, story maps, bookmarks, models and much more. It has been great fun.
We have been making maps for chapter two of The Iron Man. We worked in pairs to decide what the place where the story is set looks like. We put on roads, fences, field and buildings, then we labelled them all.
We started World Book Day with a maths investigation. We were trying to work out how many number facts we could write about the number 63. We picked this number as it is the number of pages in our class reading book, The Iron Man.
We have been learning to multiply by 10 and 100. We used human numbers and took it in turns to move the numbers into the correct columns using our place value. We really enjoyed this moving maths lesson!
In English we have been making adverts for healthy snacks. We decided to try and make some so this afternoon we are baking apple crumble oat bars. They smell amazing!
Year 3 have been learning about fractions. This is a fantastic piece of home learning using pizzas to make fractions. Watch this space for other pizza pictures as they arrive.
We had great fun today practicing our balancing in PE.
Year 3 have been learning about different types of rocks. We created the different rocks using sweets and heat. Igor carried out the investigation at home and sent this brilliant photo on Purple Mash. Watch this space for other pictures as they come in.
We had a great time playing games at our Christmas Party this morning. We are very good at musical statues!
