We loved playing in the snow this morning! Henry has made a perfect snowball here!
Year one have had a lovely time making advent wreaths.
Today we had a delicious lunch with Yorkshire puddings, mashed potato, turkey and lots of gravy! We enjoyed it very much.
In Year 1, we have been exploring Non-Fiction books and identifying their features. Next week, we will be using what we have learnt to write an information page about the Great Fire of London!
Year 1 used their knowledge of waterproof materials to successfully build miniature umbrellas for Mr Ostrich (a toy in our class). Hopefully they will keep him nice and dry!
Year 1 has been experimenting with materials to see which are the most waterproof. There was lots of water to mop up afterwards!
Y1 have been exploring the different types of materials that objects are made from. These boys have glass! Other materials we had were metal, plastic, wood and fabric.
Year 1 have just started writing their own version of 'Zog' by Julia Donaldson, with their very own dragon. We created this story map beforehand to ensure we knew everything that happens in the story and in what order.
In Year 1 this week, we have been learning about the Sacrament of Baptism. We acted out a Baptism as part of this, and as part of the ceremony, Hollie and Demir decided to name their baby, Bonnie!
Today we explored the meanings of pattern and repetition, and then made our own patterns using counters and shapes!
Year 1 have been exploring the work of Picasso in their Art lessons and creating their own self-portraits in his style.
They look amazing and very colourful!
On Thursday afternoon, Year 1 sat so sensibly as we filmed take ...after take ... after take of the poem we've been practising for the last two weeks. Well done, Year 1!
