Y3 Trip to Lancaster Castle

Today we visited Lancaster Castle as part of our topic on local history and geography. We went on a tour and found out about how the castle has changed use over time. We were amazed that some parts of the castle are over 800 years old. We had a great morning, despite the rain!

Soundproofing Year 4!

Year 4 spent the afternoon exploring how different materials work as a soundproof lining for blocking loud music - maybe useful for when they are teenagers for their bedrooms!!

Year 5 Visit to the Theatre

We've been practising our Nativity play !!

For the last 2 weeks we have been learning our words and songs for our Nativity play. Today was our dress rehearsal and we really impressed Mrs Grierson who was very proud of us all. We even managed to pass the microphone from one person to another so everyone could hear what we were saying.

Acting out Playscripts in Year 5

Today, as we are learning about the conventions of play scripts in English, we took our learning outside to use the playground as the backdrop for acting out some play scripts. We have many budding actors and actresses in Year 5! Well done, Everyone!

Tree Decorations at Christchurch

Some of Year 6 popped up to Christchurch to decorate a tree as part of their Christmas Tree Festival - they took with them messages of peace from each year to share peace and joy from our school throughout the world.

Chocolate! Chocolate!

To give Year 6 a treat after their Bushtucker Trials, we all enjoyed testing, comparing, designing and making our own chocolate bars!

Year 6 Bushtucker Challenge!

Year 6 tested their Survival Skills on Wednesday - taking a brilliant Bushtucker Trial - with snails, crickets, brussels sprouts and cockles  all to taste, it went down a real treat!

Y4 Pitch Perfect

Today in science, Year 4 explored how pitch is created and how sound vibrations change in frequency. We then made different kinds of pitched instruments. A noisy but fun lesson!
