Green Tree Day
4 June 2018
Today we have held a Green Tree Day for the Woodland Trust. We started with a special assembly, then we created and wrote about tree champions. We spent the afternoon making decorations for the trees out of natural materials. Some classes wrote poems, others made banners. We hope you enjoy looking at our trees as much as we enjoyed dressing them. We will be sending our work from today to the Woodland Trust as part of our submission for The Green Tree Award Gold level. We will let you know how we get on.

2 Minutes Silence on Remembrance Day
11 November 2016
Along with the Mayor and members of the public, Years 5 and 6 observed the 2 minutes silence for Armistice Day at the 11th hour on the 11th day of November. The children read poems, laid a wreath and said prayers. Then they took time to read some of the names of the fallen from the Lancaster area that are written on the memorial.
Scrooge Theatre Trip
10 November 2016
Years 5 and 6 spent an evening at the theatre to watch an original production of A Christmas Carol. The children are studying some of the works of Charles Dickens later this term, so this was a great opportunity to see his writing brought to life. The children travelled by train to Preston, had a meal before watching the show at the Guild Hall, and were lucky enough to meet the writer and director (Anne Dalton) as well as a member of the cast before returning home to Lancaster. In spite of a very late night, all the children made it into school the next day!
