Today, we had our May Procession. We reflected on how we can follow Mary's example to be Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee Year. We processed from school into the Cathedral where our headboy and headgirl placed a crown of flowers on a statue of Mary. Children in Reception Class and Year One laid flowers around the statue as the rest of the school sang, 'Bring Flowers of the Rarest'. Some KS2 children and their mums led us in reflecting on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary and then Year 6 led us in the following prayer:

God our Heavenly Father,

Thank you for choosing Mary to be the mother of your son, Jesus.

Mary said yes to doing your will.

May we always be ready to say yes to you.

Mary rushed to help Elizabeth when she heard her news.

May we always be ready to help others.

Mary brought Jesus into this world.

May we bring the love of Jesus to the people around us.

Mary faced difficulties and sadness in her love for Jesus.

May we never give up following Jesus, even when life is difficult.

In everything we do, may we follow the example of Mary as we journey together as pilgrims of hope.

We make our prayer in the name of Jesus,  Amen.
