When the rain starts, we don't stop learning in reception! We read a book all about the rain and learnt that the rain falls when it gets to heavy to stay in the clouds. We looked at some pictures from all around the world where there is no rain (in the desert) and where there is too much rain that it causes floods. We read that the rain is so important to help the flowers grow and spent some time looking at our flowers. We saw there are lots of buds on one plant and we made predictions about what colour the flowers might be when they bloom. We spotted some similar purple flowers so we think they might be purple. We also saw in the book some children trying to catch rain in their mouths so we had a go at this. We discovered that it was very difficult to so this and we will stick to drinking the water in our bottles. We looked ahead at the weather forecast for the week to try and work out what the weather will be doing. We're hoping for some more rain so we can do some more exploring of puddles!
