Today the firefighters from Lancaster Fire and Rescue service came to visit Y2 and Y6 to tell us some important information and teach us valuable skills. First we learned about the importance of having fire sensors in our home and told us to go home and check that we had some fitted to our ceilings. These go off at the first sight of smoke in our homes. Then we did some role play and learned what to do in the event of a fire at our home, how to check the back of doors, crawl on the floor to avoid smoke and get out and ring 999. The firefighters also demonstrated how to STOP,DROP and ROLL if any of our clothing sets on fire. Y2 listened really carefully...but can they tell you all about it?
