Fruit Faces in Year 2


 

Year 2 have had a fantastic afternoon making faces out of fruit. We have looked at the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and used his work as inspiration. The children had fantastic discussions and worked really well as groups. Lots of fun and laughter was had!

Kicking in PE

Year 2 had a fabulous PE lesson with Mr Lofthouse. Using a range of different balls the children were passing and stopping the ball with their feet, using the inside of their foot to pass the ball. It was a great way to start a Tuesday!

Epiphany Writing in Year 2

Year 2 have had a reflective morning. They have thought about the feast of the Epiphany and the journey the Three Wise Men went on, to worship the baby Jesus. The children then had the opportunity to write about the special feast day.

Van Gogh Christmas Cards in Year 2

Year 2 have been inspired to use Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Sky’ to create their Christmas cards. The colour mixing and swirl creations are looking fabulous. We can’t wait to see the finished product!

Baptism in Year 2

As part of our RE unit Year 2 took part in a role play of a Baptism. The children were very respectful and thoughtful during the activity. A fantastic way for everyone to experience a Baptism. The questions and discussions were great as well.

Painting in Year 2


 

Year 2 have had a wonderful time in art today. We used Ted Harrison as our inspiration to create landscape paintings. The children really enjoyed it, the conversations about mixing colours and creating the right colours were fantastic to hear!

Year 2 Wheelchair Basket Ball

Year 2 had an amazing time this afternoon. Each child had the opportunity to play basketball whilst in a wheel chair. Teamwork, hard work and lots of smiles all round! What an unforgettable PE lesson.
